MISSION 1

Bought the base Mission 1 for low light and is thoroughly pleased, finding it much better than their Hero 13 Black in the same lighting, with cleaner open-gate cropping.

“For anyone on the fence about low light capability, that’s the reason I bought this. I am thoroughly pleased.”

Owns the Mission 1: finds the interface smooth and is happy overall, though GP-Log2 is a pain to grade in DaVinci Resolve and it is heavier than their Hero 11.

“The user interface is smooth to navigate through.”

Received a pre-ordered Mission 1 that would only power on after holding Mode for 20 seconds and restarted by itself; battery and SIM swaps did not help, and support replies were unhelpful.

“Immediately I noticed that it doesn't turn on normally.”

Compared against a Sony A7S III: similar 4K sharpness, slightly better dynamic range on the Sony; liked being able to disable in-camera noise reduction and denoise in post, but GP-Log2 is harder to grade than S-Log3.

“The Mission 1 is no slouch though. Impressive.”

Compared the Mission 1 with a DJI Action 4: loved dynamic range, audio, auto exposure, battery and polish, but found sharpness meh, focus narrow (sharp roughly 2.5-20 m), 8K a gimmick and it large; returning it.

“The Mission 1 is a great action cam, with amazing audio, impressive dynamic range”

Finds the Mission 1 a generational leap in dive footage: 8K, lower noise, and better light handling than the HERO13.

“if the HEROes are excellent machines, the MISSION 1 represents a true generational leap”

Calls the Mission 1 fantastic and is replacing their HERO13 with it.

“The M1 is fantastic. As mentioned above it’s replacing my Hero 13”
