Cycled 10,000 miles across Africa with the X100VI; it was totally fine, though short on reach for a typical safari.
“The cam? Totally fine, you just might not have enough reach on a regular safari!”
Owns an X100VI after an X100S; loved the fixed-lens camera at first but hit its limits and missed shots, so wouldn't recommend it as an only camera.
“As an X100VI and previously X100S owner, I don't recommend buying these cameras as your only camera.”
Finds the X100VI small, fun and the perfect travel camera with its ND filter, leaf shutter and hybrid viewfinder, but keeps an EOS 80D for other focal lengths.
“For me, it's the perfect travel camera. I wouldn't recommend as your only camera, though.”

Reaches for the X100VI in most situations, but not for their kids' sports, where they want stronger autofocus and telephoto reach.

“It’s still pretty cool to me how I am able to get so much out of this little camera, which is usually strapped to my chest during hikes”
A professional who adores the X100VI as a family camera, though its AF is too slow for their paid work.
“I own X100VI too and I absolutely adore it as my family camera.”
Loves their X100VI for street photography; it fits a sling bag and even a parka pocket.
“I have the X100VI and love it. It fits nicely in a Peak Design sling bag, and even fits in the pocket of my winter parka.”
Switched from Canon to the X100VI for its JPEGs and size; it disappears in a bag until needed.
“the x100vi is pretty much the king of everyday carry right now.”
Gave up their X100VI once their child started moving because its AF struggled with unpredictable subjects.
“x100vi AF starts to suck when you’re trying to shoot unpredictable moving subjects.”
Travelling with the X100VI; its compact size and handling have them taking more pictures than with their Canon, Nikon or Sony gear.
“I've been traveling with a X100VI lately and compact + Fujifilm ergonomics really has me out there taking more pictures than when on Canon/Nikon/Sony.”
Owns an X-T5, X100VI and X-M5 and carries the X100VI almost everywhere; fuss-free and does the job well, though fixed at 23mm.
“I carry my X100VI (almost) everywhere I go on a daily basis. It is fuss free, does all the job really well”
Stepped away from the X100VI: its autofocus and lens were only so-so, and the film-recipe workflow didn't suit them.
“the x100vi did not work well for me because it's af was only so-so, it's lens also so-so”
Moved from the original X-T30 to the X100VI and finds images and features very similar, with IBIS as the only real upgrade; misses zoom lenses.

Finds the X100VI great for street photography, though limiting if you need to change lenses.
“X100vi is great, I use it mainly for street photography.”
Owns the X100VI alongside an R7 and R5 Mark II; finds it a niche camera, good for close, slow-moving kids, but you have to zoom with your feet.
“the Fujifilm is a niche camera.... and if u absolutely need something small and u only shoot photos of kids when they are close to you and not moving fast... its good. but”
The X100VI is their first real camera; its build, looks and portability make it easy to take everywhere.
“having an x100vi as my first real camera, the build quality, aesthetics and portability make this so easy to just take with me. Its hard to explain or even quantify”
Their X100VI often misses focus slightly on horizons, which shows when cropping into the 40 MP files.
“my x100vi often missed focus ever so slightly when focusing on horizons. It happens relatively often and it’s not the worst thing in the world but you notice it in the edges of the frame”

“I genuinely enjoy using the X100VI more for day-to-day travel, street photography etc.”
Bought the X100VI to simplify to one lens and kept it over a rented X-M5.
“the whole reason I purchased the X100VI was to simplify my shooting experience and just have one lens. With the XM5, I’d be tempted to purchase more lenses, like I”
Sold their X-M5 and three lenses because the X100VI's restriction makes them more creative.
“Yepp, thats why i sold my XM5 with 3 lenses… its (speaking of me) a very uncommon way of getting Creative.. i Need to reduce myself in order to get”
Enjoys the X100VI's fixed lens for street and travel and uses its built-in ND filter and 50/70mm digital zoom all the time.
“I enjoy the simplicity/restriction of having a fixed lens on my x100vi. For what I like to shoot (street/travel) the wider focal length works well for me.”
Bought an X-M5 to scratch the X100VI itch, but it didn't, so sold it for the X100VI and is much happier, though the X100VI is larger than expected.

Their X100VI's shutter speed dial has stopped matching the speed it actually shoots at, jumping around randomly, so photos come out at the wrong shutter speed. A reset didn't fix it.
“When I turn the physical dial on top of the camera, the shutter speed on the screen doesn't match what I actually set it to.”
Says the X100VI's fixed-lens focus motor is slow and buzzy, so they don't even use continuous autofocus; blames the lens rather than the processor, which matches the X-M5's.
“The X100VI lens motor is slow and buzzy. In a compact lens, they didn't exactly have room to plunk a linear motor in there!”
A long-time Canon shooter who bought the X100VI for a lighter camera that doesn't tire their wrist. Not perfect but very workable, and they enjoy it; the fixed lens stops them hauling extra lenses.
“It's not perfect, but it's very workable and due to its popularity I figured I could sell it and not take a big loss.”
