Loves their a7C II but would probably pick the a7 V if buying again, because they prefer a centred viewfinder and miss a tilting screen.

“I love my Cii but if I had a do over I’d probably get the V. I found that I prefer a viewfinder in the usual spot”

Loves the a7C II for travel with the 24-70 GM, 40mm f/2.5 and Tamron 28-200: family portraits, city walks, hiking and road trips. Rented a 200-600 for a Kenyan safari and was blown away by the results.

“I love my a7cii, have both the 24-70 and 40 2.5 lense you mention, along with tamron 28-200. I find. It perfect for travel in my opinion”

Takes the a7C II hiking with the 20-70, 40mm and Tamron 70-180. Heavier than their old a6000 setup and needs two hands with the zooms, but the picture quality difference is obvious and they're happy with it.

“With either of those zooms mounted, I have to use both hands. One holding the body and other supporting the lens. With a6000, except for 70-350, i could hold and click with just one hand.”

Moved from the a7C II to the a7 V. Found the a7C II front-heavy with lenses over about 300 g and its viewfinder too small; thinks it only makes sense with pancake-sized lenses.

“Came from a7cii went up to a7v. The weight becomes less of an issue if you use bigger lens like over 300g as they make the cii front heavy. That and the view finder is too small for me.”

Went from an a7 IV to the a7C II for a smaller travel camera, used it for about a year and wasn't happy: it lacked the buttons they relied on. Moved to the a7 V, which has everything they missed.

“I used the a7cii for about a year and wasn't that happy with the use. The a7v has everything I missed in the a7iv, plus the new screen.”
