Owned the X-T5 and found its 40 MP X-Trans V sensor fine but not as much sharper than the 26 MP generation as expected, and weak at high ISO compared with monochrome Leicas.

“The X-Trans V sensor is *fine* but the extra megapixels vs IV is not really rewarded with more sharpness like one would expect from it.”

Returned to photography with an X-T5 and the 8-16, 16-55 and 50-150 f/2.8 lenses and loves how much fun it makes shooting, compared with an a7 III they didn't enjoy. Its autofocus was really good at a GT3 race; recommends adding a grip.

“I recently decided to shoot a GT3 race, and (because of the internet) I thought the autofocus would suck with fast cars but it turned out to be false lol. The autofocus was really good”

Bought and sold the X100VI three times, then settled on the X-T5 with the 23mm pancake, which they find better in every way and only slightly bigger. Autofocus with the pancake is good enough for photographing their kids.

“I use the XT5 with the 23mm pancake now and it's just so much better in every way than the X100VI, I no longer really desire owning one. It is a bigger overall package, but not that much.”

Owned several Sony bodies, including an a7C for about four years, before switching to the X-T5. Says it produces the best images they have made, the lenses are a nice size and they never missed full frame, so they sold the a7C.

“This X-T5 aps-c sensor has been magical, the lenses are a perfect size, and i've never once felt like i missed having my full-frame.”
