Switched from the Sony a7 IV to the R6 Mark II and loved it: much better ergonomics, noticeably better AF and reliable white balance, despite customisation limits.

“I switched from the Sony a7 IV back to Canon a few years ago. I dipped my toe back in the Canon waters with the R6 II and”

Went from 5D bodies and an R5 to the R6 Mark II, then sold the R5 for a second R6 Mark II because AF acquisition and subject lock were much more predictable.

“the AF target acquisition was just SO much more predictable with the R6ii, along with the lock on that subject after acquisition. So if you ask me, the R5 is”

Has shot a lot of sports, concerts and events with the R6 Mark II and RF 28-70 f/2.8 and recommends it over the original R6 for its AF.

“The RF 28-70mm F2.8 IS STM does amazingly well on the R6ii, I've done a fair bit of sports, concerts and events with it.”

Moved from a Sony A7II to the R6 Mark II and loves the ergonomics; easy and fun to shoot and a great hybrid camera.

“Finally upgraded from Sony A7II to the Canon R6II and the ergonomics are so good. I love taking photos with it and continually amazed how easy and fun it is to shoot on. Also a great hybrid camera for video.”

Loves the R6 Mark II for photographing kids' sports, including night games: great autofocus with the right lens and good low-light performance.

“I decided on the R6ii and love it! As others have pointed out, the R6iii has improvements mainly dedicated for video. I was mainly looking for a camera to take photos, with video as a nice to have. The R6ii”

Shoots theatre with the R6 Mark II and finds its eye tracking fantastic: hold the button and it follows the eyes.

“The R6II will be a massive improvement, I use it to shoot theatre shows. You just hold down the button and it tracks eyes, it's fantastic.”

Shoots nature, astro and wildlife with the R6 Mark II and RF 100-500: AF acquisition and tracking are better than the R7's, and only small birds need more reach.

“The AF is better in both aquisition speed and stickiness. The noise you will get in low light situations due to the pixel density of the R7 will be painfully apparent. I do nature and astro and wildlife and use”

Owned both the R6 Mark II and R7 and preferred the R6 Mark II: better 4K video and less noise in low light, though photos were similar. Later moved to a Sony a6700.

“coming from having both, the R6ii I enjoyed better. size is about the same.”
